Elsevier, FAST Update Scirus Search Engine [New Window]

Elsevier Science has announced, in conjunction with Fast Search & Transfer (FAST), a new release of Scirus, a science search engine. The new version offers more subject-specific content and features like expanded information types, dynamic teasers that highlight search terms within the results list, and improved relevance ranking.

New Version of the SEPB Available

The Scholarly Electronic Publishing Bibliography has upgraded to version 44! The new version of the bibliography contains information on over 1,600 articles, books, and sources about scholarly electronic publishing.

There are two versions of the SEPB available:

HTML [New Window]

Acrobat (Adobe Acrobat Reader) [New Window]

Oil and Gas Records Database Released by Kentucky

Lexington Herald-Leader [New Window]

An article that covers the new oil and gas database now available from the state of Kentucky.

For the database go to:

The database has information on almost 150,000 producing and non-producing wells. You can search the site for several types of information. Internet Explorer and the DjVu plug-in is required to view the records.

Google Gets Even Bigger

According to Google's front page, the Google index now searches 2,469,940,685 pages, and (it's spiders are) only searching a fraction of the Web.
